Ahead of Uflex STAIRS School Football League season-4, STAIRS organized first ever 15 hours long scouting seminar for players at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The scouting program was conducted by Paulo Pedro, Technical Director STAIRS Football Academy.
Mr C. V. Som, Principal Secretary to Government (Housing &Nirmal Gujarat) was the chief guest. Also present on the occasion were Siddhartha Upadhyay, Founder & Secretary General of STAIRS, Mr. Gulab Chauhan, Secretary, Gujarat State Football Association (GSFA); Chairman of Referee Board: Head-SSFL National Council, Mr. N Sisodiya, Secretary, District Football Association, Gandhinagar and Mr. Philip Job, Treasurer GSFA.
Closely related with the SSFL tournament, STAIRS is developing an extensive scouting program aiming to improve the level and quality of selection, thereby creating U-17 elite team to represent STAIRS in India and worldwide. This scouting program will see his debut in this edition of UFLEX SSFL 2017 in UP, Gujarat and New Delhi. More than 100 STAIRS scouts will follow the entire competition reaching around 60000-70000 young players in these three states. Best possible talented players will be selected from the country and provided with a platform to achieve their professional dream.
Founder & Secretary General, STAIRS, Mr. Siddhartha Upadhyay stated “I believe India has depth and ample of talent, consistency is the main issue to dealt with. With proper infrastructure, facilities and support many young talents can further be encouraged to choose sports as a career. But even before that you should have a strong and unified talent identification process and which we are creating through such initiatives”.
