Hiring Talent for STAIRS Football Academy (SFA)

Position: FOOTBALL COACH – 5 positions

Location: Delhi/NCR

Job Description

  • Thorough knowledge of the sport of Football
  • Prior experience of coaching minimum 5 years
  • License football coach (with minimum AIFF ‘D’ license)
  • Updated with the latest guidelines of coaching by FIFA, AFC, AIFF, etc


We are looking for candidates with good leadership & communication skills as well as the ability to teach football to children and interact with parents. Major responsibilities include:

  • Prepare well structured and interactive session plans for the respective age-group in accordance with curriculum provided.
  • Ensure that Pitch Size, Group Size, exercises/drills are according to age group
  • Ensure Safety of all participants
  • Being punctual. Reaching the pitch at least 30 minutes before the training session to get the pitch ready at least 15 minutes before the session starts.
  • Conduct training sessions in a fun filled manner
  • Support in STAIRS School Football League (SSFL)
  • Manage inventory of all equipment provided for training.

Selection process:

All candidates have to undergo a 16 hour workshop conducted by our Coaches' Mentors. The workshop will introduce you to SFA and our philosophy for how we play and teach football. All prospective coaches will be evaluated during the workshop on conduct, professionalism and ability to conduct sessions and will be appointed in different roles (Head coach, Assistant Coaches) depending upon the assessment.
There will also be a written test and panel interview.

Position: Sports Academy Specialist:

Location: Delhi

Job Description

The Sports Academy Specilaist is wholly responsible for the organizational activities at a SFA. The position requires a natural leader with multitasking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Sports Academy Specialist are broadly divided into the following sections. Each of these is equally important.

Team and Technical Management:

As the coordinator, you will lead the team of coaches, medic, grounds-men etc at a center. This means you will be in-charge of any off-field issues that the coaches have and will be the first point of contact in case any coach has any concerns with regards to his work in SFA. Keeping note of the sessions plans carried by the coaches; frequency of mentors visiting the centre; coaches assessment; arrival timings of all coaches.

Business Development:

The Sports Academy Specialist will closely work with the New Business Development Unit of STAIRS. He/She handles the business development aspect of the center and attempts that majority of the children who take up a trial come back and enroll for the regular training program. For the regular kids taking continuing training, need to ensure that they renew at a timely manner. If anyone is absent for consecutively 3-days, he should call and ask the reason for absence from training with the parents.

Parent Relationships:

As Sports Academy Specialist , you are the face of SFA and you are the impression the parent has of SFA. Communicating crucial information from SFA and handling day-to-day queries will be your role towards the parents.

Day-to-Day Functions:

As Sports Academy Specialist, you are totally responsible for smooth functioning of the training. This is a broad outline of the job description. Specific tasks will be shared once the candidate qualifies for the interview round.

Position: Head of Academy

Location: Delhi/NCR

Position Summary

The Head Of Academy is wholly responsible for complete operations management for all SFA Training Centers. The position requires the incumbent to demonstrate leadership qualities, manage operations across multiple centers in a planned manner, develop relationship with Sports Academy Specialists and take it upon himself/herself to maintain overall quality of activities as per SFA standards.

Job Description

The individual will be responsible for overseeing the upkeep & progress of all SFA Centers assisted by the respective Sports Academy Specialists. He/she will be responsible for ensuring timely updates & follow up of activity schedule designed monthly in consultation with the Founder and Secretery General

The role will also entail expansion of the organization through partnerships with various institutions across the country. Simultaneously the incumbent will be looking after the affairs of SFA from time to time in order to ensure proper functions.

Key Responsibilities as the Head of Academy:

Preparation of a monthly schedule/ tracker of activities at the Centers which includes (but not limited to):

  • Follow up with the respective Sports Academy Specialists as per the schedule
  • Ensuring regular updates of the SFA students’ database including student and coach attendance, coach distribution, renewal updates, etc.
  • Other items including academy kits, equipment and inventories are maintained at all centers with the support of the coordinators.
  • Coordinating with all development squad coaches for all of the above processes.

Building extensive relationships with key personnel internally as well as with external partners in partner institutions:

  • Develop relationship with all Sports Academy Specialists (in Delhi/NCR and outstation) to ensure that the representation at the center is uniform and as per the required quality standards

  • Represent SFA Management in key interactions & meetings with all partners & clients
  • Explore tie-up opportunities with potential institutions for expansion

Meeting Revenue Targets: the incumbent will be responsible for

  • Maintaining low PRR (Pending Renewal Ratio) at all centers
  • Identify ways to increase the strength of the trainees at each center through regular interactions with the coordinators and coaching staff
  • Identify alternate revenue sources through the academy program


  • Proven track record in planning and executing projects.
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with coordinators, coaches, parents, Physical Education Teachers and administrators of schools etc.
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in sports industry at a leadership/coordinator/manager level.
  • Graduation from a reputed university is a must. Any post graduate degree including MBA/MSW/MPED, Diploma, Sports management will be given preference.
